The exceptional circumstances
Dr. Muhammad Hedayetullah, a scholar of comparative
religions, in his book Dynamics of Islam (2006), emphasizes that although Salah
is mandatory, flexibility in details is allowed depending on the circumstances:
for example, in the case of Illness or lack of a space, a worshiper may offer
salah while sitting or even lying down, and prayer may be reduced when
traveling. The Salah must be done in the Arabic language.
Qada
In certain
circumstances one may be unable to perform one's prayer within the prescribed
period (waqt). In this case, the prayer must be performed as soon as one is
able to do it. These prayers made after the prescribed waqt is called qada. It
is not permissible to overlook deliberately performing salat on your waqt with
the intention of carrying out afterwards. Hazrat Yabir narrates that Muhammad
said: "The distinguishing factor between disbelief and Imaan is the
deliberate oblivion of Salat" (Muslim). It is preferable to read the Qada
salat in the order that was lost. that is, if you missed the two Zohr and Asr,
when you read this qada prayer, you should read the Zohr before the ASR qada.
However, this is not a Fardh act, it's just that you prefer.
