There are many misconceptions attached with istijaarah such as:
Whenever a person faces a difficult problem, or hesitates to
make a decision and his knowledge of the subject is insufficient to guide him
then, after seeking the advice of trusted friends is due to turn to God and beg
his grace. He must willingly and with an open heart and mind to beg for divine
guidance and ask for guidance so that the problem is solved in his own
interest. The appeal of an occasion is called istijaarah.
Istijaarah is in fact an invaluable teaching of Muhammad
(SAW) with which Muslims have been favored. This blessing can give comfort to
many of all the times to come. It is related in the Hadith that Muhammad (SAW)
used to teach the istijaarah to the companions of the Prophet as the Qur'an is
taught to the children. In another hadith it is said that "He does not let
that istijaarah and that he does not repent, that he does the consultation."Umrah package uk
In the istijaarah Masnoon, after his responsibility has been
carried out as best he can, all the matter must be delivered and from himself
to the boundless knowledge of Allah, the Most High, by resorting to an
istijaarah he is recovered from making a decision about his own.
Whenever the advice is to look for a respectable and
experienced person, it is expected that he will give good advice and help to
the best of his ability. In the same way istijaarah is to seek counsel that the
all-knowing and all-merciful Allah? Once he becomes istijaarah then Allah, the
Most High will surely guide him to do what is best for him.
Now there can be no confusion. Only what God wants is what
God wants and what is good for himself, even if he can not see it immediately.
It is not necessary that one should experience or see an obvious change or
vision. Allah, the One Most High who knows what is best for his servants. It is
related in the Hadith that "the success and good news for the son of Adam
(Insan) is in the realization of istijaarah and his misfortune is in not doing
istijaarah.
